SPORTS BODIES TAXATION
SPECIAL EXEMPTION (From "The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter! WELLINGTON, 20th December Provision is made in the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill, introduced into the House of Rejiiesentatives to-day for the exemption from the payment of income tax of sports bodies, with the exception of lacing and trotting clubs. The clause provides that the exeinplion is to be made if the *l )m ‘t concerned is conducted for tbe recreation or entertainment of tbe general public, if no person participating in tbe sport receives any payment, and if no pa it of tbe income derived is used or a\ailable to be used for the private pecuniary profit of any individual or individual.
