"REUNION IN VIENNA,” MAJESTIC, TO NIGHT With John Barrymore starred and Diana Wynyard heading tlie supporting cast, tlie filming of “Reunion in Vienna” provides a glamorous background for the brilliant dialogue. Barrymore is at bis best as the Barrymorish llapsburgh and offers as engaging a portrayal as he lias accomplished. Tljp picture crowns Miss Wynyard with the mantle of stardom. She negotiates her role of the love-hungry Viennese wife with a genuine sympathy. She is beautifully photographed and her performance fits nicely alongside Barrymore’s own excellent portrayal. Naturally, Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer’s gorgeous mounting of the play adds lustre to the film, which screens to-night at tlie Majestic Theatre. Particularly striking are the settings and costuming. Much credit must go to tlie director for his careful translation and for the delicate handling of situations. The play remains intact on tlie screen, with the exception of a few added touches here and there, notably in the opening scenes, which show the glory of the imperial court during the pompous reign of Emperor Franz Josef, a prelude, as it were, to tlie body of Slierwqod’s piece.
