MR E. P. WILLS APPOINTED A DISTINGUISHED CAREER •flie position of diocesan secretary to the Church Property trustees of the Diocese of Christchurch, which will become vacant early in the new year through the resignation oj the Rev. Canon J. flc 15. Galwey, will be filled by Mr E. P. Wills, at present of the teaching staff of the V ar.ganui Collegiate School, says the “Press. Mr Wills will take up his new duties on Ist February. . Sir Wills has had a brilliant scholastic career. He is a son of the Rev. Mr Wills, formerly of Richmond. He was born in Christchurch and educated at Nelson ■ College, of which he was head prefect in his final year, and later gained the degrees of D.A., (honours), and B.Com. at the University of New Zealand. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1928, and is also an associate member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. After completing his degrees lie obtained practical experience in legal offices in Auckland and Wellington, and then joined tlie staff of Wanganui College. Referring to his departure from Wanganui, the headmaster of the school (Mr J. Allen), speaking at the pvmeeiving, said that apart from the lact that Mr Wills was one of the most versatile members of the staff, his qualifications in law and accountancy had made it possible to extend the school s scheme of work to useful purpose m these subjects. “His place will be bard to fill, said Mr Allen. “Our thanks are due to him for taking charge of the scouts, and for the help he has given in football and rowing. He and Mrs Wills will carry away with them our best wishes for their future happiness.” While in Wanganui, Mr Wills was a prominent Rugby football player and represented Wanganui in the forwards. He is 28 years of age.
