INNINGS WIN FOR NELSON FREEMAN TAKES SEVEN WICKETS FOR (50 RUNS ANNUAL MATCH WITH NEW PLYMOUTH The annual cricket match between New Plymouth High School and Nelson College ground on Monday and Tuesday resulted in a win for the local eleven by an innings and 27 runs. In the first innings the visitors made 142 runs. Nelson replying with 299 for five wickets (declared). Yesterday afternoon New Plymouth set out to save an innings defeat, but were not successful, the side being dismissed for 130 runs. The outstanding performance of the day was D. Freeman’s seven wickets for 30 runs. Nelson’s victory made amends for their innings defeat at the hands of New Plymouth last year. It was a dourly fought game, played in a very fine spirit in keeping with the best traditions of inter-school sport. The New Plymouth side kept to their task in a. splendid manner while Nelson were at the wickets building up a solid score ou Monday afternoon and yesterday morning.
