METHODIST GARDEN PARTY
An event gaining in popularity with a large section of 11 12 community every year : s the annual garden party at St. John’s Methodist Parsonage Grounds. This year’s function will be held «.n Saturday next at 2.30 p.lll. when tilts fair will he declared open by Mr S. Gorman. The committee in charge of the programme has arranged for many novel competitions, tricycle races, sack races ,miniature golf, nail driving and biiflerliy limit, etc. As an alternative to the usual Christmas tree, a holy will wear a dress containing cO pockets filled with gilts. This will present an opportunity of get - I ling useful presents at an “economy.” price. Cheap rides on the donkey will be an event eagerly looker! forward to by the younger generation. The cooking competitions as advertised will he keenly contested: the committee wishes to draw attention to the condition of this competition that all entries will he come the property of llu stall holder.-;, good prizes going to liie winners. Ihe charge for admission includes a dainty cup of tea ele. As llie proceeds are for missions and to assist, the trust luinls the committee is looking forward to liberal support.
