BAD TRADE
TEN GOOD REASONS With money as “gun-shy” as it is, the shopkeeper has to watch every opportunity to attract custom, and to shun like tlie plague any action on his part or that of his staff that would lie liable to drive it away. The following “ten good reasons lor bad trade” are published in the “Bradford and District Chamber of trade Journal,” and are worth remembering: 1. Muddy or slippery pavements in front of shop 2. Inattention on part of assistants. j 3. Untidy counters and shelves, and unswept floors. 4. Absence of light. 5. Insolent and supercilious assistants. 6. Last season’s goods at this season s prices. 7. Lack of heat in winter and lack of air in summer. 8. Lack of advertising in summer. Ditto in winter. 9. Absence of ealled-for goods in stock and absence of willingness to get them for a customer. 10. General perverseness.
