PERSONAL ITEMS

The death took place at' the Reefton Hospital recently of Mr William lieument, a well-known resident, after an illness of some considerable time. The deceased was engaged in the mines throughout the district for some time, and contracted ' miners’ phthisis, from which he was a great sufferer. He served in the war, enlisting in Auckland, in the Tunnelling Corps. On returning to New Zealand lie resided in Nelson, later going to Reefton about seven or eight years ago, where he had resided ever since. The late Mr Renment, who was 58 years of age, was a native of Karamea. lie is survived by a widow, who will receive heartfelt sympathy from a wide circle in her loss. The interment took place at Reefton.
