ARMED RAIDERS

AT BILL POSTER’S PREMISES

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)

(Received 22nd August, 11.25 a.m.) DUBLIN, 21st August. Eight men armed with revolvers raided a bill poster’s premises in the centre of the city and ordered the staff to put their hands up. They seized a lorry on which were piled posters advertising English beer and flour, and they drove off and dumped the posters in the Liffey while confederates continued to hold the staff at the revolver point. The lorry was later found abandoned. It is recalled that Republican army supporters recently visited Dublin hotels and warned the proprietors to cease stocking English ales.
