RAILWAY ACCIDENT
OFFICIALS’ NEGLIGENCE
(United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright)
(Received 29th July, 10.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day,
The finding at the Railway Roard inquiry into the Albury accident at Bowning is that the accident was due to the breaking of a switch rail in the catch points while the locomotive was passing over it. The negligence of the inspecting engineer, the resident engineer, and the sub-inspector in carrying out an examination of the catch points made those officers equally responsible with a ganger for the accident. All four persons will be “suitably dealt with.”
