WATERSIDERS REFUSE TO WORK CARGO TILL UNION CREW SIGNED ON' (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. There was no response when the Union Company called for waterside labour to work the Maunganui's cargo yesterday. It is understood the men refused to work her not only while a volunteer crew was on board’ but until a union crew had been signed on. This morning her mails and passengers’ luggage were put out, hut no cargo was handled. The Maunganui’s .volunteer crew left her during the day and the crew’s quarters were fumigated and cleaned out. The Maunganui is now timed to leave here at 6 p.m. to-day for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papete.
