CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER
MERCER PETROL STATION INCIDENT (By Telegraph— Press Association) AUCKLAND. This Day. Charged with attempted murder 'Allowing a shooting affair at Mercer in April, when Janies Pennington Rates, petrol station owner, was wounded :u the groin, Christopher Niven appeared in the police Court to-day and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. On an addition charge of unlawfully converting a car lie was convicted and sentenced" to three months’ imprisonment.
