A RECORD SPRINT
RALPH METCALFE'S PER FORMANCE SIXTY YARD DASH (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SOUTH REND (Indiana), 11th March. Ralph Metcalfe, of Marquette University, the sprinter, eclipsed the world record for a sixty yard dash, in 6 1-10 seconds, one tenth of a second better than that of Loren Murchison in 1923. Metcalfe’s run took place at the central inter-collegiate conference indoor track and field championship at Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.
