ANNUAL PRACTISING FEE MINISTER. DENIES MISREPRE-' SENTATION (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. A denial that lie misrepresented Ju position concerning the amount of tiie annual practising fee to be paid by medical practitioner:; was made by the Minister of Education, the Hon. R. Masters, yesterday. “All 1 can say." said the Minister, “is that the Medical Council, which consists wholly of medical practitioners, had referred to it with the authority of the Minister of Health a question as to whether the medical profession should pay an annual practising ice sufficient to covet tlie cost of administration of the Medical Council. I was advised that a fee of 5s had been suggested, but Was considered to be undignified, and that the Council bad represented that a fee of one guinea would bo preferable. There is a nominated member of the B.M.A. on the Medical Council, and this representative was present at the meeting. It will be seen, therefore, that I correctly stated the position, and that there lias been no misrepresentation on my part. This statement is confirmed by my colleague the Minister of Health.”
