WEDDING OF BANKER

MR MONTAGU NORMAN QUIET MORNING CEREMONY LONDON, 22nd January. Following the announcement of his engagement to Mrs Priscilla Worsthorne, aged 33, Mr Montagu Norman, Governor of the Bank of England, who is 61 years of age, was married quietly. The bride is an old friend of the Norman family, and divorced her husband in 1929. She is a London County Councillor. Ail amusing sidelight on the Wedding is a snapshot in all the illustrated papers, depicting him with his hands before his face to baffle photographers, while the bride smilingly faces tlic cameras. It was a “hush-hush” wedding, early in the morning, in the presence of six witnesses. Ordinary dress was worn, and there were no flowers. The bridegroom eluded the crowd outside by leaving his own car standing at tile entrance tnd slipping through a- side door into the bride’s car, in which they drove to Hertfordshire.
