COMBINED FRIENDLY SOCIETIES

A meeting of the Combined Friendly Societies’ Picnic Committee, held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, was attended by the following members: Bro. A. J. Pellew (in the chair), Sisters F. C. Christall and M. Newport, Bros. G. H. Hammond', C. Burn, F. C. Christall, C. Brough, A. H. Morgan and M. L. Anderson. The balance sheet as read was adopted and disclosed a substantial credit after payment of all accounts in connection with the recent picnic. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the members of the ladies’ committee for the able services rendered by them throughout the year, to which Sisters Christall and Newport responded.' A vote of tlnihks was accorded. to the honorary secretary, Bro. M. L. Anderson, who also replied thanking the members for their expression of confidence. In order to bring the members of the various societies closer together it was unanimously resolved to hold a reunion in the form of a social, entertainment and dance at an early date, extending invitations to members of all friendly societies and their friends to be present. At the termination of the meeting a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the chairman, Bro. A. J. Pellew, who replied thanking the members present for their services and co-operation during the year.
