’PLANE WRECKAGE

NOT THE . HOOD-MONCRUEFF MACHINE

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)

(Received 10th February, 10.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

Aviation experts are certain the aeroplane parts washed ashore at Jervis Bay are not those of the monoplane used by Hood and Moncrieff, nor are they the parts of any British machine registered in Australia. One theory is that the ’plane is one of those which met with disaster in the Dole race from San Francisco to Hawaii in 1927, and that it afterwards drifted to Australian waters.
