LABOUR POLICY

NEXT FEDERAL ELECTIONS SPEECH BY MR LANG (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 30th January, 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The keynote of a speech by Mr Lang at the Country Labour Conference held at Goulburn was that the Australian people at the next Federal elections should return a Labour Government pledged to the unification and control of credit. The chairman, Mr Keller, announced amidst tumultuous applause that he hoped Mr Lang would be the next Prime Minister of Australia. Mr Lang’s speech was described by an official at the conference as the “now Federal Labour policy for the next Federal elections.” The conference carried a resolution making the socialisation of credit the foremost plank of the Labour Party’s policy at the Federal elections.
