S.S. RUAHINF. IN PORT Flying the New Zealand Shipping Company’s flag the steamer Ruahine, 10,700 tons, Captain G. Kennell, arrived from Port Chalmers this morning, berthing at 11.25 o’clock, having left the southern port at noon oil Tuesday. The Ruahine brings 2500 tons of cargo, including 1500 tons for the N.Z. Fruitgrowers’ Federation. She will load hops, wool and frozen meat. The vessel is expected to remain four days, and some where iu the vicinity of 150 men will be employed in discharging and loading operations. The Ruahine’s next port- of call will be New Plymouth. The principal officers of the Rualnne are: Captain G. Kennell; chief officer, Mr J. P. Styrin; 2nd officer Mr A. Hocken : third officer, Mr R. L, Warren; 4t,h officer, Mr L. Mercer; chief engineer, Mr D. Corbett; 2nd engineer. Mr J. Maclver; 3rd engineer, Mr C. Beauchamp ; fourth engineer, Mr F. B. Realy; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr A. Berry; chief steward, Mr E. P. Colmar; surgeon, Dr. A. Harford; wireless operator. Mr F. G. Bedford. It is two years since the last visit of the Ruahine.
