Total catalogues offered at the London wool sales'to-day amounted to 9034 bales, including 2335 New Zealand. About 7145 bales were sold. The offerings included a good selection of greasy merinos, which had a brisk sale at full late rates and a tendency in sellers’ favour Realisations were: New Zealand halfored lambs, slipe, “Kuiapri. J2RI highest, 10|d average; balfbred, “Bindbrook,” llijd highest, 11 L4d average. SYDNEY MARKET SYDNEY. Itli October. At the wool sales to-day 12,37-2 bales were ottered, of which 10,817 were sold at auction, 1589 ucing disposed of privately. The market was unchanged. Values were firm under spirited Japanese ami Continental competition. Greasy merino made up to 14J,dBRITISH TRADE SEPTEMBER. RETURNS (Received 13th October, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, 12th October. Board of Trade returns for September compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, are.—Total imports for September , £54,266,000; total exports £26,228,000. Re-exports were £2,901,000. The principal decreases in imports were: Grain and flour £739,000; meat £914,000; animals for food £957,000; wood and timber £692,000; iron and steel and manufactures thereof £967,000 ; cotton yarns and manufactures thereof £697,000; woollen yarns and manufactures thereof £1,150,000; apparel £1,383,000; vehicles £606,000. Phe principal decreases in exports were: Coal £604,000; vehicles £969,000. Increases in imports were: Raw cotton £959,000. Increases in exports were : Cotton yarns and manufactures £660,000.
