THE CATHEDRAL

RECONDITIONING OLD CHANCEL The chancel of the old Cathedral, which has been moved from its old position to the northern end of the nave of the new T Cathedral is being reconditioned ready for use in its new position. The shingle roof has been replaced with iron and the wooden out: side walls have been replaced with poilite. The chancel is being lined with a serviceable wall board. Construction is at present proceeding on a lean-to on the chancel for the housing of the organ which was dismantled when the old building was demolished. It is expected that the reassembling of the organ will be commenced next week. The official opening of the new nave has been fixed for 3rd December.
