A LONG-STANDING DISPUTE HEAVY FIGHTING REPORTED (United Preaa Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright; (Received 13th August, 8.55 a.m.) CALCUTTA, 12th August. There is anxiety in Lhasa, the Tibetian capital, regarding heavy fighting reported between Chinese and Tibetan forces on the borders of Szechun province. The trouble is a perennial legacy from the failure of the tripartite conference between Britain. Tibet, and China in 1914 to reach a final settlement in the dispute between Tibet and China regarding the claims of both to adminster a porlion of what was formerly Tibetan territory.
