The Supreme Court held that the Church of the Province is a different religious body from the Church of England, and that the, Grown has refused to exercise the power of appointment of bishops to sees in the dominions. Consequently the Court appointed trustees selected by the congregation of Trinity Church to administer the trust. The judgment affects a number of evangelical church which refused to recognise an archbishop who was ordained in Capetown. The judgment also affects property bequeathed to the church before the Church of the Province was constituted.
