NEW ZEALAND LAMB
STAINED WITH ARSENIC

LONDON, 21sfc June. The disquieting announcement made by Dr. Parry, health officer at Bristol, that an examination of 13,666 carcases of New Zealand lamb and mutton just discharged at Avonmouth showed that many were stained with arsenic which had apparently dripped from hides stored in a hold above. Out of 1101 at present examined 301 were more or less stained some being condemned. A warning broadcast was issued to wholesalers at■ vTvonmtjuth and'Bristol in case some of the tainted carcases were not detected.
The same ship carried consignments for Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, to which warnings were sent. The beef was not affected.
