MISSING GERMAN AIRMEN
FATE STILL UNSOLVED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Recei\ f ed 21st June, 9.2 sa.m. ) PERTH, This Day. Pilot Sutcliffe, who searched for the lost German fliers for three days, returned to Perth. He expressed little hope of the men being alive. The theory that the men Averc killed and eaten by blacks, however, is opposed by Mr A. Neville, Chief Protector of Aborigines, avlio says that there has never been even a suspicion of Avliito men being eaten by blacks. “I do not believe for a moment they have been eaten, and I doubt very much if Vhey wore killed.” Pilot Sutcliffe said tlie gorges around the district were swarming Avith crocodiles. Native reports Avere all definite that'only two men landed and that these were killed.
