WELLINGTON SKIN SALES
Dalgety and Company Limited, Wellington, report under date 17th June: The usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides, tallow and sundries was held this afternoon at the Dominion Farmers’ Institute. We submitted a medium sized catalogue to a representative attendance of exporters, tanners and the local trade Sheepskins—Small catalogues were submitted, good pelted skins only in request at prices gd lower than late rates. Salted skins of which there was a small offering, were without much change on previous quotations. Hides —This market is still very unsteady, tanners buying the bulk of the catalogue. Heavies Were in slightly better demand and prices for these showed a jjd to §d rise, while lights were par. Kip and yearlings sold on a par to «d better, calf declining |d to Ad. Cut, slippy and inferior grades sold at low rates, and barely pay the charges, etc., to store. Tallow—Very little change on late rates. The following is the range of prices:— SHEEPSKINS
