KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR
MAN SERIOUSLY HURT .
CHARGE OP RECKLESS DRIVING

CHRISTCHURCH, 18th June.
As a result of being knocked down by a motor car on the Main South road near Ashburton last night, Frank Major, aged 40, of Tiinaru, was admitted to the Ashburton Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the "car, Alfred William Perrow, a salesman, aged 112, who it is alleged did not stop after the accident, was arrested in Christchurch early this morning. Later Perrow was charged before Mr Young, S.M., with recklessly driving a motor car and causing bodily injury to Frank Major. Senior-Sergeant Fox said that Major was in a serious condition.
Perrow was remanded to appear at Christchurch on Tuesday, bail being allowed. Counsel said that Perrow’s headquarters were in Wellington.
DEATH OCCURS
ASHBURTON, This Day. Frank Major died in hospital as the result of his injuries.
