Johnston, an elected member of the Samoan Legislative Council, died to-day. lie arrived in Samoa with flic military in 1916. For twelve years lie was wit'll the Burns, Pliilp Steamship Company. Ltd., and for the last two years their station inspector, lie was elected a Legislative Council member in November 1929.
