A story of savage attacks on two children by a purebred Alsatian dog which inflicted serious' injuries, was told by the police to-day, when the'owner, Sydney Arthur Jones, of Northcote Settlement, appeared before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M. He was charged with being the owner of a dog which attacked Berenice Lang, aged five. He pleaded guilty. The Magistrate ordered the dog to he destroyed, and adjourned the case until Tuesday to allow’ the order to be carried out. The police said that the girl was seriously hurt, and had to be kept in the hospital for tv’o weeks. Later a boy, aged seven, was also bitten, and had to go te the hospital, where he was still receiving treatment as an out-patient.
