(To the Editor) Sir,—ln view of the public interest shown in connection with the charges made by the Nelson City Council for gas and electricity, the following comparative information taken from the Public Works Statement of 1931 should
The average not profit per unit obtained in the above towns was .39d, and Nefson’s net profit was 1.25 d, or more than three times the average. It is also interesting to note that the Golden Bay Power Board can sell electricity at ail average of slightly under lgd per unit, whereas the Nelson City Council’s average charge is approximately 4d.-—I am, etc. CHARLES IT.
