SOCIAL AT RICHMOND
A combined social of the Nelson and Richmond Young People’s Temperance Union was held in the Baptist, schoolroom last Wednesday evening, presided over by Miss K. Moyos. Miss A. Pearson read the temperance leeiurclle and Mr '[’. Summerville the : Scripture lesson. Miss lx. Moves, in i addressing I lie audience, told a ieniperaura- story and announced that the next ! meeting in Nelson on 20fh June would |be a Childhood social.” Contributors to Hie programme were Miss N. Kra- ! bageii. who gave a. rocil.nlion ; eomnetilion by Miss K. Moyos and won liy Miss N. hraliagen with 14 points; a memory lest by Miss Moves and won hv Miss Hall. Miss L. Bell gave a competition on advertisements from “The Mail,” and tliis wns won by Miss Rapps. Mrs Mruwbridgp, superintendent of tin* momnoiid \ s, presontoil two prizes for an essay competition on an address given by Mrs Crabtree. This was won by Master Geoffrey Tuffnell. who came first, and Miss Fauclielle second. Slip thanked the Nelson Vs for coming out to Richmond. ■Supper was then handed round and cii|oycd by all. Miss K. Moves, on behalf of the Nelson \ s, thanked the Richmond people lor their kindness. i
