The following is the Golden Bay group herd testing average for May:— Number of cows tested, 1356. Average for month, 416 lbs milk, 5.6 per cent., equal to 23.50 lbs fat. Highest herd average: Mr A. Haldane, 13 cows, 58.7 lbs milk, 5 per cent., equal to 29.76 lbs fat, 1. Mr W. Solly, 36 cows, 504 lbs milk, 5.5 per cent., equal to 27.72 lbs fat, 2. Mr W. R. Riley, 43 cows, 468 lbs milk, 5.8 per cent., equal to 27.21 lbs fat, 3. Highest cow for month: Riley Bros.’ “Peggy,” 26 lbs milg, 7.6 per cent.., equal to 59 lbs fat, 1. FI. Nalder’s “L. S. Sylvia,” 25g lbs milk, 7.0 per cent., equal to 54 lbs fat, 2. J. B. lleally's “Mocky,” 254 lbs milk, 6.6 per cent., equal io 50 lbs fat, 3. The above three cows have been milking for 240, 298 and 267 days respectively.
