TRUCK DRIVER’S NARROW ESCAPE ' (By Telegraph—Press Association) TAURANGA, 12th February. While driving a motor-truck belong-; ing to the Tauranga County Council, E. Ormsby had a narrow escape from drowning at midday yesterday. As he was turning the truck on the bank of : the Wairoa River the brakes failed to hold near the edge of the bank, and tha vehicle slowly slipped into the river and then somersaulted, pinning Ormsby urn dcr the water. By a great effort he got cut. He was almost exhausted.
