“NOT SO BAD”
NELSON HARBOUR BOARD INCOME When referring to decrease in revenue shown in the monthly return presented to the Nelson Harbour Board meeting yesterday afternoon the chairman (Mr A. Gould) said the position was after all not so bad. In 1927-28 the income was £33,924; in 1928-29 £36,390; in 1929-30 £42,107 (a record year); and the year it’ was £34,337. Mr H. W. Kelly: Our expenses have been reduced accordingly. Tile Chairman: Our expenses are reduced according to the volume of business. Mr C. T. Price said he had been considerably “bucked” since he had heard that four overseas vessels were due at Nelson before Christmas.
