ALLEGED THEFT OF RATE MONEY

WELLINGTON, This Day. It was mentioned in the Supreme Court to-day that the Crown proposed entering a stay of proceedings in the case of Arthur Wallace Richardson, cashier, charged with theft as a servant from the city rates office. The jury disagreed last week and a new trial was granted and was to have taken place this week, but it is not now intended by the Crown to proceed.
