NEW CUNARD VESSEL A S ?■■■ ■—T The Cunard Shipping Company's huge Atlantic liner which is being built on the Clyde, Scotland, is expected to be launched next February and to commence running late in 1933. The vessel will be 73,000 tons gross, which is only 765 tons less than the combined gross tonnage of the eight passenger vessels, Monowai, Marama, Makura, Aorangi, Maheno, Niagara, Ulimaroa, and Sonoma, which are all well known in New Zealand.

■ When completed the new CuHarder will be 1018 ft in length and 115 ft in width. She will have eight decks above the water line, the boat-deck being 650 ft long and tho promenade 720 ft long. The tops of the funnels will be 130 ft above the water line and the rudder will weigh over 150 tons, l’he engines, will be 200,000. horse power, and tho speed of tho vessel will be 30 knots.
