FINAL CLEAN UP TRIAL EXTENDS OVER A YEAR 131 MEMBERS FOUND GUILTY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) ROME, 24th June. After a trial extending over a year 131 members of the Sicilian Mafia were found guilty of crimes of murder, blackmail, and robbery between 1910 and 1926. This represents the final cleaning U]) of the Mafia. When the verdicts were announced the prisoners, who were in an iron cage, indulged in abuse and foul language. Fifteen wore sentenced to life imprisonment. nine to 30 years’, fourteen to 25 years’, sixteen to 15 years’, and seventyseven to 10 or less years.
