PARADE OF “MIGHT”
GERMAN NAVAL POWER LONDON, 28th May. The most elaborate German naval display since the war marked the roview of tho fleet by President von Ilindenburg following the launching of the new “pocket battleship,” Deutschland, says the Kiel correspondent of “The Times.” The cruiser Konigsberk, Hying the President’s standard, took the valuta, as the seaplanes soared and tin fleet steamed past in line ahead, with four battleships of the pro-Dreadnought class in the van. The pocket battleships will progressively replace these. Then came the two sister ships of the Konigsberg, built under tho replacement clauses of the Peace Treaty, followed by 50 destroyers, submarine chasers, and smaller craft. The crews manned the ships, arousing the enthusiasm of the crowds of sightseers in steamers and launches.
The Konigsberg, which the Deutschland eclipses in grace, led the parade to the port, passing a three-masted training ship with her yards manned.
