AIRCRAFT DEVELOPMENT

NEW NIGHT BOMBER tßritish Official Wireless) RUGBY, 17th June. Among several new types of aircraft not publicly shown which will be seen for the first time at the Air Force pageant at Hernlon on Saturday week will be a„ huge four-engined Vickers night bomber, which is considerably larger than the 8 ton Vickers Virginia bomber, hitherto the largest and most powerful fighting aircraft in the world. The new machine has four Rolls type engines developing 1920 horse power, and two engines are mounted as tractors and 'two as pushers. It is 07 feet long, 22 feet high and lias a 90 feet wind spread. It weighs 12 tons and its speed, range and load shows a considerable advances on any other bombing type.
