SYDNEY, 17th June. A mysterious murder was perpetrated at Maroubra suburb last night and discovered to-day. Frederick Moffitt was found shot through the breast, in a sitting position at the steering wheel in his car at a lonely spot. Many shots were heard by neighbours, but as the night was wet and dismal nobody ventured out to investigate. The police express the opinion that Moffitt was the victim of an underworld feud as the shots were apparently fired from the roadway at short range. There were several bullet holes in the car.
