AUSTRALIA TO LONDON TO MEET TREASURY BILLS FEDERAL HOUSE AGREES (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) CANBERRA, 17th June. A Bill authorising the export of £5,000,000 worth of gold to meet Commomvealth treasury bills clue on 30th June was passed by the House Representatives. The Treasurer, Mr Theodore, said there was no alternative but default. The Opposition assented to the measure.

The Bill reduces the statutory reserve of gold from a minimum of 25 to 15 per cent.

Since the Scuilin Government came into office in October 1929 about £31,735,000 in gold lias been shipped abroad.
