ARCTIC JOURNEY

WILKINS’S SUBMARINE (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) NEW YORK, 28th March. Sir Hubert Wilkins has selected John Lunheck, a veteran American submarine man, as quartermaster. He also revealed that he has received an application for a position from Richard Schrank, a former German submarine officer, who commanded U 1 during the war. The explorer's crew are highly pleased hv Schrank’s opinion of the Nautilus. 'He said that the voyage was eminently practicable. “I am sure the Nautilus will return safely. I would not want to plav with my own life, would I?” Verne departed for France stating: “I am proud to have had a share in christening the Nautilus. The vessel is a reality of my grandfather’s dreamboat.”
