RED SEA SLAVE TRADE
EFFORTS AT SUPPRESSION (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 23rd February. Replying to a Parliamentary question regarding the Red Sea slave trade, the Foreign Under-Secretary, Dr Dalton, said a considerable measure of co-operation had been established between the British, French and Italian Governments. In addition to the British patrol, French and Italian warships are .regularly stationed in the Red Sea. British officials in the neighbouring territory periodically meet their French and Italian colleagues to exchange information. Officers on British sloops also kept in touch with the local authorities.
