(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)
(Received 25th February, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, 24th February. ■Earl Jellicoe and the Bishop of London (the latter as president of the Church of England Council of Empire Settlement) issued a statement urging Anglican churches at least once yearly, preferably near St. George’s Day, to devote a sermon and colection to the furtherance of the Council’s aims. “We must prepare the ground for a forward move when the clouds lift and disclose a new era of prosperity. The church will be judged by its ability to face a task hitherto left to sectional societies.”
