PALMER-POST CASE

SUICIDE A CONFESSION OF MURDER (United Press Association—By .lect.-ic Telegraph—Cony right) NEW YORK, 19th February. A report from Santa Ana, California, states that Court proceedings in connection with the will of Mrs Palmer, closed with Judge Seovel’s unprecedented decision that Mrs Post was a murderer, despite her attorneys plea to “leave her sleeping peacefully” and the assertion that since Post was dead she was unable to be declared a murderer for it was impossible for her to lie tried. Mrs Palmer’s will left Mrs Post a thousand dollars and jewels. The former’s friends contended that a murderer or her estate were unable to receive a bequest from a victim. The Judge upheld the assertion and ruled that a “murder confession is seen in the fact that Post committed suicide. It was a prima facie case of murder.”
