APPLICATIONS RECEIVED (By Telegraph—Prew Association) WELLINGTON, 6th December. As a result of the Unemployment ■' Board offer to local authorities of subsidies up to a total of £25,000 on the.v .'basis of £2 for £1 as a special expediency;measure for the relief of unemployment'; •,• over the Christmas season a number of applications have been received. Up to yesterday the Board had made allocations amounting to £19,356, which had < been approved by the Minister of Finance.
