TWO WOMEN CAPTURED

BY CHINESE BANDITS (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copy right) SHANGHAI, 30th November. Miss H. D. Hayward, an American, and Miss Egomersal, a British nurse, left Vim Station, Lanchow, at the end of October for Pekin. Mrs Hayward, who was critically ill, was seeking a surgical operation. Last week, when twenty miles from Patoa-Chen, and while travelling ; on rafts, bandits captured and robbed the women and stripped them of their clothing. The women are still in captivity. The weather is freezing. Other missionaries are attempting a rescue. A relief party leaves Pekin to-morrow seeking the captive ladies. The party is composed of Messrs Findlay and Andrews, famine workers, Lieutenant Kanaga, of the United States Navy, and Captain Staples, of the British Navy.
