SAMOANS SENTENCED
ASSAULT ON A CONSTABLE

Convicted of assault and causing grievous bodily harm to Constable Grant at Papa, Savaii, on 23rd June last, five Samoans were sentenced. Famuitato and Taiematu were each given five years' imprisonment, and Vaimaa, Faalu, and Kolose each 18 months' imprisonment, all with hard labour. The case was heard before Mr Euxford, S.M., and four assessors.
