SHOCKING TRAGEDY
EXPLOSION IN CAR WOMAN BLOWN TO PIECES (United Press ■ Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 17th June, 12.30 p.m.) . SUVA, This Day. A shocking tragedy occurred at Nasinu stone crusher last evening. Sabben, Government mechanical engineer, with his wife arrived witli explosives and stores in a car. Sabben left the ' car and a minute or two later there was a big explosion. Elliott, manager of the stone crusher, was approaching the car, and both ho and Sabben were flung to the ground, but escaped serious injury. 'flic ground Was covered with tiny pieces of flesh and bone, and Mrs Sabben's mangled head and the upper part of her shoulders wore found three chains away over a creek. .Some of her clothing was wrapped round the windscreen some yards awav. Her two feet, cut off at the ankle,"were found 60 yards away. The car contained fifty pounds of gelignite, . two hundred detonators, and a quantity of benzine. Mrs Sabben was the daughter of Mr White, a Woolwich leather manager. The cause of the explosion is a mystery.
