CITY STATUS
PALMERSTON NORTH QUALIFIES! (By Telegraph—Press Association) PALMERSTON N., This Day. Advice has been received from the Government Statistician that the population of the borough as at Ist Apiil was 20,150, thereby qualifying Palmerston North to be proclaimed a city. Application for the necessary proclamation under the Municipal Corporations Act will be made forthwith.
