The Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education, is spending the week-end in Nelson.
A Wellington Press Association telegram reports the death of Mr Robert Hannah, of R. Hannah and Co., boot manufacturers, one of Wellington’s best known business men for many ( years. I The death of Shubert Gordon, which occurred' on Wednesday last after a | brief illness came as a great shock to i his many friends. The deceased was I the third son of Mr and Mrs J. Gordon of Cromwell (Central Otago), who arrived in Nelson after a long journey taken at short notice, in time for the interment, which took place at the Nelson Cemetery yesterday, the Yen. Archdeacon Dart conducting the service, The late Mr Gordon, who had been engaged in Nelson for some time met with a slight accident recently, and unfortunately tetanus set in and he passed away on the lltli. To his parents general sympathy is extended. An area of 12 acres situated in the Motueka survey district is to he offered for sale by public auction at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Nelson, on Thursday, 17th July, at 11 o’clock a.m. •
